About

In 2010 I successfully completed Jan King’s Professional Author Assistant Training and Certification course.

As an Author’s Assistant I possess the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the publishing process. My goal is to help authors overcome the obstacles that are overwhelming them and getting in the way of their productivity and impending success.

I help authors stay on track by assisting them with tasks they don’t know how to do or simply don’t have the time to deal with in their busy schedules. The services I provide play a key role in saving my clients time and money by helping to ensure accuracy of information and coordinating publishing procedures in order to be certain the right steps are being taken in the right way and at the right time throughout the process.

I am a business professional with thirty years of experience providing executive administrative support and office management. I have experience in marketing and event coordination. I coordinated trade shows and was responsible for scheduling and overseeing developer conferences and trade shows throughout the United States and abroad.

Previously I was a freelance writer for online promotional product advertising. I wrote web content, creative product descriptions and scripts for informational PowerPoint presentations and YouTube videos.

In late 2014 Janica Smith, owner and CEO of PublishingSmith, and I took over the professional author and speaker assistant training courses. These online programs were created by Jan King and upon completion offer professional author and/or speaker training certifications.

I love to travel and for ten years I enjoyed traveling around the entire United States living and working full-time in our RV. For now, I’m enjoying living on the beach and working from home in Florida.

I’m extremely passionate about supporting family and/or locally owned and operated establishments. I’m also a big supporter of local charity events and gatherings that further support the local communities, schools and farmers, etc.

I’m not ashamed to admit it – I’m addicted to farmers markets. I want to know where my food comes from. I want it to have flavor. I don’t want any added toxins or pesticides that are harmful to my health sprayed on the food I eat.

I’m a volunteer for the local Meals on Wheels Program. Each week, I deliver meals to seniors and people in need.

I also support and volunteer at the local animal shelter and county humane society. I am a shuttle/transport volunteer and I had the pleasure of making the first ever rescue transport of an injured dog and 4 puppies from a kill shelter in Miami to Titusville where they were treated, cared for and adopted out to good homes.

As a graduate of the Professional Chef Program at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts I have a passion for cooking and creating delectable foods that I enjoy sharing with my family and friends.
